Basic layout¶
I enjoy to paly around with different tech stuff in my spare time those this lab…
I have build a private cloud out of some beeboxes, nuc’s, and pi’s home brewn router
- router: Partaker Mini Pc Firewall Mikrotik Pfsense VPN Network Router J1900 4 Intel Lan WiFi 3G/4G Support 4G RAM 32G SSD I1
- beebox: ASRock Beebox J3160-NUC Barebone USFF
- nuc: Intel NUC NUC6CAYH - Celeron J3455
- pi‘3
- kubernetes
- ceph for block, fs, and blob
- gitlab for source control and ci/cd
- nextcloud + collabora office
- homeassistant
Hardware¶
The router¶
The router is pretty simple it is a linux iptables firewall managed by fwbuilder
Switch¶

Beebox¶
The beeboxes are setup as hyperconverged hardware. They run both kubernetes master nodes and ceph osd, mds, and rgw
Nuc’s¶
They are workers for kubernetes
Pi’s¶
They are also workers for kubernetes running stuff like a print-server, pi-hole, etc.
